Service Agreement of Lasco Smart Platform

Before accepting this Agreement, you should thoroughly read all contents of the Agreement, and fully know its terms, especially restrictive clauses or exceptions. Restrictive clauses or exceptions are bold or highlighted in other forms to catch your attention. In case of any doubt for the terms of the Agreement, please contact the relevant business department of Lasco Home Security and Automation (“Lasco”). You are not allowed to use the service before you have read and accepted all terms of the Agreement, relevant agreements, and rules, etc. Once you select “agree and submit the Agreement” (see registration page for detailed wording) and complete the registration procedure, or you use the service in any form, it will be deemed that you have read and agreed with the restrictions of the Agreement and rules above. In case of any breach of the Agreement, Lasco has the right to unilaterally restrict, suspend or terminate the service for you, and has the right to investigate your relevant responsibilities.

The Service Agreement (hereinafter referred to as “the Agreement”) is signed by you and Lasco Home Security and Automation (hereinafter referred to as “Lasco”). It includes (but is not limited to) the Privacy Policy of Lasco Smart Platform and other related contents. In case of change, Lasco will announce such change on its official website without further notification. Upon announcement, the changed agreement and rules become part of the Agreement automatically, without further notification to you for your consent. In case of objection to such relevant changes, you must stop using Lasco’s service; if you keep using it, it will be deemed that you hold no objections to the changed rules and agree to abide by them.

I. Definitions of Terms

1.1 Licensed software refers to the software system developed by Lasco, downloaded from the platform, and installed and applied in specified system mobile terminals.

1.2 Services refer to services provided to you by Lasco Home Security and Automation. You can use such services on the mobile terminal with the licensed software.

II. Service

2.1 Lasco offers you intelligent life equipment management services, based on which you can access the intelligent terminal on Lasco Cloud Platform through the Lasco Control application, and realize interlinkage among intelligent equipment. Service contents include intelligent equipment management, scene interlinkage, and analysis report, etc. Such functions may be optimized or modified according to changes in users’ demands or judgment of the service supplier, and service supply may be suspended due to regular and irregular maintenance.

III. Scope of Service

3.1 Lasco grants you the right to use the product based on this software.

3.2 You are prohibited from licensing, selling, leasing, transferring, issuing the product in any form, or using the product for other commercial purposes. Due to limitations on software adaptation platforms and terminals, you can only use the licensed software in the authorized system platform and terminal; if you install the licensed software on other terminal equipment, it may damage your hardware or software functions.

3.3 You acknowledge that the licensed software can only be used for non-commercial purposes and installation, application, and running of the licensed software is prohibited for commercial use. If such commercial operation is necessary, prior written authorization and permission from Lasco shall be obtained.

3.4 Lasco may change, upgrade, or transfer the licensed software or relevant functions from time to time, and may add new functions or services in the licensed software system. If no separate agreements accompany the aforementioned new functions or services, you are entitled to the corresponding functions and services, which are also subject to the Agreement.

3.5 You are responsible for the accuracy, reliability, integrity, and legality of input data and for ensuring that data is obtained legally, and shall back up data and information from time to time. You bear all risks for any damage to or loss of such information.

3.6 You must properly keep your account number and password. In case of any security breach of your account (including but not limited to divulgence of user password), you must notify Lasco in time, and Lasco will assist you in taking relevant measures. Otherwise, all actions related to your account will be assumed by you and you will bear all responsibilities.

IV. A Third Party
4.1 You acknowledge that certain services of Lasco are based on software or services provided by a third party. Such services are designed to facilitate your application, and necessary legal authorization is obtained from the third party.

4.2 The product includes certain information and services of the third party. Lasco neither controls nor bears responsibility for information and services of the third party.

4.3 You understand that Lasco cannot guarantee that the licensed software will always use or contain such services, or that other software provided by the same third party will be used in the future. Similarly, it may use similar services supplied by another third party. Upon application, the aforesaid corresponding software or services are subject to this Agreement.

V. Service Application Standard
5.1 You shall use the licensed software in a normal manner. The following actions are breaches of the application standard:

  1. Issuing or sharing computer viruses, worms, malicious codes, or software that deliberately damages or alters computer systems or data;
  2. Collecting information or data of other users without authorization, such as email addresses and the like;
  3. Maliciously using the product in an automated manner, causing server overload, or interfering with or damaging web servers and network links in other forms;
  4. Attempting to access server data or communication data of the product without authorization;
  5. Interfering with or damaging production applications used by other users.

5.2 You understand and agree that:

  1. Lasco will determine whether or not you are involved in violations of the above standards, and may suspend or terminate your application license or take other restrictive measures as agreed in the Agreement;
  2. Lasco will directly delete information that breaches laws, infringes others’ legal rights, or violates this Agreement when you use the licensed software;
  3. If a third party is harmed due to your breach of application standards, you must bear legal responsibility in your name and protect and indemnify Lasco from any resulting losses or additional expenses; otherwise, Lasco has the right to claim compensation;
  4. If Lasco suffers any loss due to your breach of relevant laws or this Agreement, you must compensate Lasco for any resulting damages and/or expenses.

VI. Information Content Standard
6.1 You promise that you will not conduct any act in violation of laws or engage in improper behavior using the service. Such acts and behavior include (but are not limited to) uploading, transferring, or sharing content that:

  1. Opposes the fundamental principles established in the Constitution;
  2. Endangers state security, reveals state secrets, subverts state power, or undermines national unity;
  3. Damages national honor and interests;
  4. Incites ethnic hatred or discrimination or undermines national unity;
  5. Undermines the country’s religious policies or promotes heresy or feudalistic superstition;
  6. Spreads rumors, disrupts social order, or destabilizes social solidarity;
  7. Spreads obscenity, pornography, gambling, violence, murder, and terror or abets criminal activity;
  8. Insults or slanders others and infringes upon others’ lawful rights and interests;
  9. Contains content related to fraud, deceit, harm, threats, invasion of privacy, harassment, defamation, indecency, or is otherwise morally objectionable;
  10. Contains any other content restricted or forbidden by the laws, regulations, rules, and legal standards of the Philippines.

VII. Privacy Policy and Data

You have purchased our Lasco Smart device hardware and are starting to use the Lasco Smart device software and all its functionalities. Any information you share with us (e.g., when creating a Lasco Account) helps us to provide you with services related to the Lasco Smart device and to improve them. We explain here how we collect and use information and how we protect your privacy. In this Privacy Policy, “personal data” means information that can be used to identify an individual alone or in combination with other data. We collect both personal and non-personal data to enable and facilitate the best possible user experience.

What information is collected and how do we use it?

Lasco Account Information
Personal data collected during account creation may include PII like your email address or mobile phone number. These help activate, manage, and provide service for your Lasco device. Your nickname, profile picture, country, and time zone may be associated with your account for convenience.

User Device Information
We may collect your device model, operating system, unique device identifier, IP address, Lasco software version number, access type, etc., to enable push notifications and device functionality.

Device Information
Information about all your smart devices is collected for you to control them remotely via the app.

Picture/Video
Pictures or videos captured by your camera may be collected to support mobile monitoring and alarm services.

Feedback
We welcome and collect feedback or suggestions to address any issues or device failures promptly.

Infrared Information
Your infrared remote control information may be collected to enable control of other infrared devices via the app.

User Scenario
Settings used in scenarios, automation, etc. are collected to support intelligent scenario services.

Body Fat Data
When using the smart body fat calculator, your height, weight, fat percentage, BMI, muscle mass, and related data may be collected.

How is Personal Data used?

  • To enable you to control smart devices you’ve purchased.
  • To deliver our products and services, process your orders, fulfill contractual obligations, ensure product functionality and safety, verify your identity, and prevent or detect fraud or misuse.
  • To develop products and services and generate general statistical insights.
  • To communicate updates, launches, or notifications about products and services.
  • To send marketing and promotional materials (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • To personalize design and recommend products or services tailored to you, including ads and survey invites.
  • To conduct product and service investigations.
  • To manage lotteries, contests, or promotions if you participate.
  • To provide maintenance services, monitor software licenses, and improve product or operational efficiency.

Who do we share your information with?

Unless otherwise specified in this Privacy Policy, we keep your personal information confidential. Disclosure may occur in the following scenarios, and Lasco will ensure any third-party recipient adheres to applicable Philippine privacy laws:

Disclosure to Lasco group companies and Third-Party Service Providers
We may share your personal data with other Lasco entities (communications, social media, tech, or cloud divisions), and with third-party service providers (mailing services, delivery, telecom companies, data centers, storage facilities, customer service, agents, affiliates, and others), strictly to provide or improve our products or services—not for marketing without your consent.

Disclosure to Others
We may disclose your personal data without further consent if required or permitted by law such as:

  • Required or authorized by applicable laws or regulations;
  • Necessary to respond to emergencies threatening health or safety;
  • Required for crime prevention or legal proceedings;
  • Necessary in your interest if consent cannot be obtained in time;
  • Required in investigations or proceedings;
  • To law enforcement officers with appropriate written authorization;
  • To public agencies when necessary in the public interest.

Other Information

We collect non-personal statistics (e.g. language preferences, postal/area codes, time zone, profession) from app and website interactions to improve service performance. Participation in our User Experience Improvement Program may collect usage statistics anonymously. We may collect log data (IP, browser type, OS, date/time, click rates) for diagnostics. Location-based services (e.g., weather, maps) may collect your geographic information. Cookies and similar tech (pixel tags) help store preferences and enhance experience. Device unique IDs and approximate location may be captured on first activation.

Delete Information

You may delete data via: Profile → Personal Center → Terminate the account, including:

  • Lasco account information
  • User device data
  • Device information
  • Pictures/videos
  • Feedback
  • Infrared info
  • User scenario settings
  • Body fat data

Your Options

By agreeing or using the service, you confirm understanding, acceptance, and receipt of this Privacy Policy’s full content. If you disagree with any part, please do not use Lasco’s services.

Information Safety Safeguards

We implement various preventive measures to protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We have strict internal security policies and procedures, enforced by a dedicated information security team. Your data is stored on servers in the Philippines, and—if necessary for security or backup—on affiliated company servers.

Information Retention Period

We retain your data only as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless law requires or permits longer retention.

Policy Updates
